Over the years, I’ve had this conversation with so many of my clients:
Aside from your family and your pets, if you had only a moment to run into your home and grab the things most precious to you…what would you take?
The answer is overwhelmingly the same.
“My pictures.”
“I’d grab our wedding album.”
“I’d go straight for that drawer filled with old family photographs.”
“I’d take the family portrait hanging on our wall.”
Why?
Because photographs aren't just pieces of paper.
They hold people, moments, stories and entire seasons of our lives that we can never get back.
They remind us how tiny our children once were. They preserve the faces of people we love. They bring us back to wedding days, Christmas mornings, family vacations, belly laughs, missing teeth, awkward teenage years—and ordinary moments we didn't realize would someday mean everything.
And that leads to another question I often ask:
How are you reminding yourself, your spouse and your children that your family is the most important thing in your world?
A family portrait displayed on your wall quietly says something every single day:
This is us.
This is our family.
This is where you belong.
And you are worth celebrating.
Digital images have their place, but the photographs that become part of your home—the portrait you walk past every morning and the album your children pull from the shelf years from now—become part of your family's story.
Someday, those photographs won't just belong to you.
They'll belong to your children…and eventually, to their children. ❤️
Don't let the photographs that matter most live only on a phone, computer or social media account.
Print them. Display them. Hold them.
Because the pictures you'd run back into your home to save are probably the pictures worth creating and preserving today. ❤️
